Created in 1968 by Leen Valkenier and produced by Thijs Chanowski and Loek de Levita, it ended in 1989 and was broadcast on the Dutch channels NOS, RTL 4 and RTL 8 and on Belgian channel VRT. "Capitão Furacão" premiered on TV Globo's launch day, April 26, 1965, with the motto "Always alert and obedient!" The children's program was hosted by Pietro Mario (Capitão Furacão). In the second year, actress Elizangela began co-hosting alongside him, becoming his loyal assistant.
