BBC London News is the BBC's regional television news programme for the English region encompassing London and the surrounding areas. Its local competitor is ITV News London, which is produced by ITN for ITV London. BBC London News is broadcast seven days a week on BBC One in London and the surrounding areas, with short bulletins during BBC Breakfast, after the BBC News at One, and after the BBC News at Ten. The flagship programme airs between 18:30 and 18:55 each weekday evening and is usually presented by Riz Lateef. Weekend bulletins are broadcast on Saturday lunchtime and early evening and on Sunday evening. Lateef became the main presenter of the flagship programme in March 2006 when she replaced Emily Maitlis who left to join the BBC News channel and BBC Two's Newsnight.Midday

Midday was a television newsmagazine series on CBC Television, which ran from January 1985 to 2000, replacing local noon-hour newscasts on CBC stations. The show, which aired from noon to 1 p.m. on weekday afternoons, presented a mix of news, lifestyle and entertainment features. The show would open with a 10-minute CBC News summary, usually read by Sheldon Turcotte in the news studio, and then move to another studio for the main segment of the program. The news summary would later become a simulcast of the CBC Newsworld hourly news update that was live for each time zone. Its original hosts were Bill Cameron, Keith Morrison and Valerie Pringle. The original producer was Michael Harris and the series was directed for its first four seasons by Sidney M. Cohen, who later became executive producer of Canada AM for CTV. Morrison, who initially rotated with Cameron, left after a year and Cameron left several years later, and was replaced by Peter Downie; Downie left in 1989 and was replaced by Ralph Benmergui. ATV Midlands News was a regional television news and current affairs programme, produced by ATV, serving the Midlands area of England. First broadcast on Monday 7 May 1956, ATV Midlands News was one of the first daily regional news services on British television, originally consisting of a short early evening bulletin of local headlines read by Patricia Cox with stories often sourced from the Birmingham Evening Dispatch, a local newspaper. Film footage of news and events was later introduced to the bulletins and shot by Birmingham Commercial Films, an independent company which specialised in providing newsreel and stock footage. From 1958, the nightly Midlands News bulletins were supplemented by Midland Montage, a weekly topical magazine programme presented by Leslie Dunn and ATV continuity announcer Pat Astley. A year later, ATV set up its own news film unit for both programmes. Fox Business Morning was an early morning business newscast that aired on the Fox Business Network from 5-7am Eastern Time. Anchored by Jenna Lee and Connell McShane, it was the first show to be aired on the network when it launched October 15, 2007. Nicole Petallides served as Jenna Lee's original co-anchor before she was replaced with McShane on May 12, 2008. Originally airing as a one-hour program, Fox Business Morning expanded to two hours on May 12, 2008. The second hour of this program replaced the first hour of Money for Breakfast, which in turn, contracted to two hours. Fox Business Morning once again contracted to 1 hour on October 5, 2009 to make way for Imus in the Morning.
