It was released on January 30, 2005, after the premiere of the fourth season and was released in three-day intervals. It is the first mobisode FOX released. Set in Washington D.C, it takes place over twenty-four non-linear one-minute episodes, and it appears to take place during Day 4, as indicated by a reference to the Heller kidnapping by James Sutton happening that day. The 24 minutes of the show do not happen in real time; instead each minute takes place at a different given time in the day.

Set in a virtual simulation of Shibuya, Tokyo which is regulated by an entity named Piece which does not allow inhabitants to live, the series focuses on a fifteen-year-old boy named Tsuyoshi who seeks to find both his lost memories and a way to escape Shibuya. To maintain control, Piece locks "kills" those who do not operate within the proper confines of the world, which results in their being reset and inserted back into the city with a new name and identity and without their previous memories.

Transformers: Cybertron, known in Japan originally as Transformers: Galaxy Force, is the 2005-2007 Transformers toy line and animated series, another co-production between Hasbro and Takara. It was aired in Japan as a separate rebooted transformers series, though in America, the English dub was presented as a sequel to the previous series, Transformers: Armada and Transformers: Energon by adding dialogue and reusing a number of screens to link elements of the Armada and Energon series to the show, giving the impression that it is a sequel. In the anime, all of the Transformers are computer-generated, while the humans and backgrounds are rendered in traditional 2D animation. It is the last series in the Transformers franchise to be produced in Japan.
