At the end of the 16th century, Dutch subjects revolted against legitimate Spanish rule. What starts with the discontent of a minority grows into a war that will last more than a lifetime. From Groningen to Brussels, from Den Briel to Groenlo, the battle erupts everywhere. And often that struggle has a strangely modern appearance. Terrorism, propaganda, executions, radicalization, shock and awe; all themes that can easily be found in the war that was fought from 1568 to 1648. The Phantom Agents are modern day ninja working for the Japanese government, mostly against the dastardly "Black Flag" organization. They wore "pudding basin" motorcycle helmets, and in the earlier episodes they ran everywhere in single file, but later graduated to a Toyota Crown Saloon. The Phantom Agents are armed with ninja weapons such as shuriken and use guns "only as a last resort." They can jump backwards up onto the limbs of trees and hold a piece of cloth with a brick pattern on it in front of them and thus become invisible to their opponents. Agents included Phantar, the leader; Tugor, Cordo, Zemo and a female agent, Margo. There was also a small boy agent, Tomba.
