Cooking For Kids with Luis is a television cooking series for pre-schoolers, which was broadcast on Nick Jr. in 2004. In this television series, Luis prepares, cooks and shares some of his favorite dishes - from scrambled eggs to tortillas, dumplings to Guatemalan cheesecake. At six years of age, Luis is the Guinness World Record holder as the youngest host of his own television program. The series is also seen on a number of broadcasters worldwide, including Nick Jr. in America, Canada, Ireland, South Africa, Germany and France where Luis is dubbed. The series was directed and produced by Phillip Tanner with Jason Critelli as associate producer/production manager. The series was followed by a similar program about gardening for children entitled Gardening for Kids with Madi. Cooking for Kids with Luis won two ASTRA Awards in 2005: Most Outstanding Australian Production Kids and Short Form. Luis was also nominated as Favourite New Presenter. Mulligan Stew was a children's educational program, sponsored by the 4-H Council and shown both in schools and on television. It was produced by Michigan State University and premiered in 1972 during National 4-H Week in Washington, D.C. The show was named for the hobo dish, and each of the six half-hour episodes gave school-age children information about nutrition. Produced by V. "Buddy" Renfro, Mulligan Stew featured a multi-racial group of five kids: Maggie, Mike, Micki, Manny, and Mulligan, plus one adult, Wilbur Dooright. The group went on nutritional adventures around the globe, although the series' filming usually stuck close to Lansing, Michigan School packages included a companion comic book with further adventures of the characters, reviews of things learned from the show, and lyrics to the show's songs. Chucklewood Critters is an American line of television specials and an animated TV series created by former Hanna-Barbera animators, Bill Hutten and Tony Love, which centered on two woodland animals: Buttons, a young bear cub, and Rusty, a fox cub. It started as a Christmas special in 1983 called The Christmas Tree Train, followed by eight more holiday/seasonal specials. In 1997 it was developed into a series entitled The New Chucklewood Critters, which ran for two seasons.

Let's Pretend was a 1980s children's television series aimed at preschool ages. It was shown across the ITV Network at 12.10 on Tuesdays, then later Mondays, replacing the popular Pipkins which had been cancelled at the end of 1981. Like its predecessor, each edition was fifteen minutes long, and the programme was produced using many of Pipkins' personnel such as puppeteer Nigel Plaskitt and producer Michael Jeans. Each week the presenters would find a number of ordinary household items and contrive to produce a short story featuring them all. The first programme, "The Story Of The Broken Puppet", was shown on Tuesday 5 January 1982 by Central Television. The show aired weekly until 1988. The show's original opening titles featured items moving along a conveyor belt into the mouth of a large plastic whale, and later a puppet caterpillar moving along the screen.

The children that were the main stars of the program were also part of a musical group singing children's songs which was named after the program as A Turma do Balão Mágico. The program was aired by Rede Globo between 1983 and 1986, and the musical group released six albums under the Columbia label that sold together 13 million copies. Their biggest hit is the song Superfantástico, which is still popular more than 20 years since its release.
