Time of Your Life was a Canadian television soap opera which ran production from August 1988 to May 1989. The series was created by producer Harry Jakobs and Maryse Wilder, Rhea Cohen and Maurice Thevenet. The series was shot in Montreal, in a studio with built sets in an industrial lot warehouse on Royalmount and The Decarie Expressway near Montreal's racetrack Blue Bonnets and Orange Julep. It was loosely based on the low budget Canadian independent feature Rebel High. The series debuted on October 17, 1988 and was aired right after the American soap opera General Hospital at 4pm, daily Monday through Friday replacing Bob Barker's The Price Is Right. Making it at that period Canada's first daily syndicated soap opera with all 130 episodes shot two weeks in advance to air date until completion of the first season cliffhanger.

Punishment is an Australian television soap opera made by the Reg Grundy Organisation for the Ten Network in 1981. Set in a fictional men's prison, the series attempted to present a male version of the successful soap Prisoner. Attempts by the show's makers to differentiate the series from Prisoner saw Punishment imbued with greater realism; however, the formula did not attract high viewing figures. Network Ten deemed the new series a failure after only three episodes had gone to air, and it was quickly removed from the schedules. The remainder of the 26 episodes produced were shown out-of-ratings later that year. Unusually for a soap opera, the series was taped using the single camera technique. The regular cast featured many notable Australian actors including Brian Wenzel, Barry Crocker, Michael Preston, Ross Thompson, Anne Haddy, George Spartels, Cornelia Frances, Lisa Peers and Julie McGregor. The series was the network's replacement for The Young Doctors, set at a medical college with an emphasis on young people getting their first experience of living away from home and leading independent lives. The youthful cast included Gary Sweet, David Clencie, Nikki Coghill, Tottie Goldsmith and Peter O'Brien, whilst more experienced cast members complementing the young leads included Maurie Fields, Gerard Maguire, Jill Forster and Anne Phelan. The series failed to gain sufficient ratings and was quickly cancelled and removed from the schedules after five episodes. The remaining eighty episodes were screened out-of-ratings in late 1983.

The Unisexers is an Australian television soap opera made by Cash Harmon Television for the Nine Network in 1975. The series was produced by the same company that had made the smash hit soap opera Number 96. The Unisexers focused on a group of young people - both male and female - living together in a commune arrangement in the old house of a retired elderly couple whose children had left home. The youngsters set up a business making denim jeans to be worn by both sexes, hence the title of "Unisexers". The cast included: Tina Bursill, Josephine Knur, Steven Tandy, Tony Sheldon, Delore Whiteman, Walter Pym, Jessica Noad and Patrick Ward. The series, hampered by an early evening time slot, failed to find an audience and was cancelled and removed from the television schedules after three weeks on air. A one hour premiere episode and fifteen thirty-minute episodes were broadcast.

Originally created for NBC radio by Irna Phillips in 1948, the radio and television versions ran simultaneously from 1954-1956. Hollyoaks Later is a spin-off from the Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks. Broadcast on E4 with a late night slot, the series began in 2008, and was an annual event for the soap until 2013, when there was a break, until it returned with a special episode in 2020. Each of the original series was shown over five consecutive nights. The late night airing allowed for more sexual content, "edgier" storylines, and stronger language. Each series is a stand-alone story, although each ties in with events on the main show at the time, with the producers often taking advantage of the later broadcast time to tie up loose ends on the more violent and controversial storylines.
