Nine removed Canal Road from its schedules after the seventh episode, which drew in only 360,000 viewers; however the eighth episode was still made available online.     The People's Choice is an American television sitcom that aired on NBC from 1955 to 1958, primarily sponsored by The Borden Company. It stars Jackie Cooper as Socrates "Sock" Miller, an ex-Marine and a young politician in fictitious New City, California. Sock has a basset hound named "Cleo", whose thoughts, as she balefully observes Sock's dilemmas, are recorded on the soundtrack for the viewers' amusement. Cleo's real name was Bernadette. Much of Cleo's dialog consists of wisecracks. The popularity of the basset hound breed increased markedly with the run of the show. During the last season of The People's Choice, Croft began her eight-year role as Clara Randolph on ABC's The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet. The versatile Croft had also been a semi-regular on Our Miss Brooks and I Love Lucy and a regular on The Lucy Show and Here's Lucy.

The series was unique in that half of the stories were animated, and half were live action; reflecting children's real world of play and their imaginary world. The music was composed by Bruce Ley and Jed MacKay.

    Little Angels is a Bafta-nominated British reality television show which ran for three series on BBC Three. The series, in the docu-soap genre, aimed to show parents how to overcome common behavioural problems in their children, using a team of experts who observed and gave advice. The format of each programme involved experts monitoring the behaviour of the family and the children, before discussing with the parents the real underlying causes of the problem, which frequently involved the parents themselves. The experts then discussed a course of action with the parents, later coaching them on how to change their own and their children's behaviour to improve the situation. The show's experts, Tanya Byron, Stephen Briers, Rachel Morris and Laverne Antrobus, became household names.
