On 17 September 2013, ITV Wales announced it would launch a weekly 30-minute current affairs programme, Newsweek Wales, featuring interviews, analysis and a look back at the week's main news stories in Wales. The new programme, broadcast on Sunday lunchtimes, was launched on Sunday 22 September 2013. A previous plan to extend the weekday late bulletin to 15 minutes was scrapped.

Wanted is a socially interactive show which employs a broad range of social media to encourage the public to help solve crimes, with viewers being encouraged to provide immediate information anonymously that could prove an arrest or a lead to close the case.
The Soup Investigates is a comedic news television series on E!. It is a spin-off of The Soup. While The Soup reports and makes fun of news events during the previous week, its spinoff follows a group of newspeople who inquire around for news stories that are potentially humorous. Like its parent, The Soup Investigates is hosted by Joel McHale.
The series' pilot episode aired on June 19, 2013.
New Day is a weekday morning television show on CNN anchored by Chris Cuomo, Kate Bolduan, and Michaela Pereira. It premiered on June 17, 2013 and airs from 6:00-9:00 a.m. ET, originating from CNN's Time Warner Center studios in New York City. New Day replaced Starting Point, formerly anchored by Soledad O'Brien, which had aired since January 2, 2012.
Cuomo joined CNN from ABC News in January 2013. Bolduan previously served as a congressional correspondent for CNN's Washington bureau and frequently co-anchored The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer. Pereira joined CNN from Los Angeles' KTLA in May 2013.

With the creation of New Day, Early Start with John Berman and Zoraida Sambolin is reduced to one hour from 5:00 AM to 6:00 AM ET.
