Lí Ban is a Northern Irish anime-inspired animated series produced by Claire Handley and Jude Petticrew. Heavily inspired by the story of Lí Ban, the series follows the titular 12-year-old character and her dog Con as they mysteriously transform into a mermaid and a sea otter. As they explore the deep sea in search of answers, they encounter gods, monsters, giants, and wily humans. The series debuted on both TG4 and Cúla4 on 15 October 2024, and was also made available for streaming on Cúla4's website. It is distributed internationally by Aardman.
A Welsh language dub of the series was broadcast on S4C.
The series was made with funding support from Coimisiún na Meán and Northern Ireland Screen's Screen Fund, and the Irish Language Broadcast Fund.
Archaeologist Katya Egorova embarks on an expedition to Altai with her son Kolya, unaware that she will find herself in the middle of a struggle for the mystical belt of the Scythians, which gives its owner incredible power. A powerful artifact is being sought by an influential businessman Tikhomirov, whose ancestor found one of the three parts of the belt and left a map. Sasha, a black digger, helps the businessman in his search, but without Katya's experience, it is not possible to put the belt together. Tikhomirov threatens the girl, so she agrees, not knowing that her ex-husband Vadim is also hunting for a powerful object.
Sinbad Jr. and his Magic Belt, is a series of 5-minute cartoons which originally aired between 1965-1966, produced by Hanna-Barbera studios for the American International Television division of American International Pictures, and were shown during a half-hour cartoon.
Sinbad Jr. is the son of Sinbad, the famous sea explorer. He becomes superhuman getting his power from his magic belt. His first mate is the funny and loyal assistant Salty the Parrot. Matheson and Blanc were the voices used in the Hanna-Barbera versions.
Sinbad Jr., the Sailor was originally titled The Adventures of Sinbad, Jr. and produced for American International Television by Sam Singer. In an effort to improve the quality of the animation, production of the 1965 syndicated cartoons was taken over by Hanna-Barbera, making it one of the few cartoons to be produced by two different studios. It was renamed Sinbad Jr., the Sailor out of deference to the 1962 Toei Studios feature-length cartoon, Adventures of Sinbad.
