The Johnny Cash Show was an American television music variety show hosted by Johnny Cash. The Screen Gems 58-episode series ran from June 7, 1969 to March 31, 1971 on ABC; it was taped at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee. The show reached No. 17 in the Nielsen ratings in 1970.
Cash opened each show, and its regulars included members of his touring troupe, June Carter Cash and the Carter Family, The Statler Brothers, Carl Perkins, and The Tennessee Three, with Australian-born musical director-arranger-conductor Bill Walker. The Statler Brothers performed brief comic interludes.
It featured many folk-country musicians, such as Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Linda Ronstadt, Kris Kristofferson, Mickey Newbury, Neil Young, Gordon Lightfoot, Merle Haggard, James Taylor and Tammy Wynette. Troldspejlet is a Danish television program that reviews and tells about upcoming films, video games, comics and books. The creator and editor, Jakob Stegelmann, is also the presenter. In 2006 Stegelmann received a new prize called the Nordic Game prize, and was promised that the prize should be named after him from that day on, because of his "contribution to the coverage of computer games on Danish national television and his understanding of the relevance of the phenomenon of games to the entertainment culture", referring to Troldspejlet, the film magazine Planet X, and his many books about films, video games, and comics. Troldspejlet has been shown on Danish television channel DR1 since 1989, and uses the Gremlins 2 End Credits theme from the American horror-comedy film Gremlins 2 as signature tune. Primarily, the target group is children and adolescents.
