To combat the invasion, a genius inventor, Dr. Kiwi, recruits young Michael Marsh, his girlfriend Patti Pumpkin, and rich classmate Camille Cashmere Jr. as fighters by upgrading the kids' robot helpers (known as Janbu, Patigu and Kamigu respectively) into powerful robot fighters. Michael's robot sidekick Janbu becomes the titular Galatt.

With the aid of his two faithful retainers Duke Sukedo and Baron Kakusu, Prince Mito decides to undertake a royal inspection tour of the planets undercover. However, the empire is a dangerous place and is plagued with vice feudal lords and corrupt space merchants, as well as other evil people. Using the royal family's weapon, the combining robot Daiohja, Prince Mito punishes any kind of villians that are within Eden 1's empire.
Seiji Takasugi obtained a jewel called "Aurin" which is the earth's alter ego and it has elected him to be the commander of eight brave robots. The Brave robots are sleeping in many parts of the world as "Brave Stones". Their enemy is Lord OhBoss who is an invader who aims at stealing the planet's energy with the aid of his subordinates that Da-Garn and the other brave robots must stop in order to save the world.

While in India, she meets a fellow backpacker, Shingo. Teruko first regards Shingo as a frivolous person but as his encouraging words clear her hesitation and touches her, she falls in love with him.

A manga series, written and drawn by Go Nagai, was also released alongside the anime, originally published by Kodansha in the magazine Comic Bom Bom from March 1989 to January 1990.
This anime series inspired the real-life pro-wrestler, Jushin "Thunder" Liger.
The opening theme "Ikari no Jushin", which was performed by Yumi Hiroki, is also wrestler Jushin "Thunder" Liger's theme song. The song "Kiseki no Jushin" was also used by Liger on occasion.
Draias, the self-declared ruler of the universe decided to make Earth his base. Together with his ever-loyal subjects Zol and Shura, he carries out his misdeeds through the evil scientist Jango.
