Fimbles is a British television programme designed for pre-school children. The Fimbles are Fimbo, Florrie and Baby Pom, who all live in a bright, lush and colourful place called Fimble Valley. Fimbles is produced by Novel Entertainment who created the characters. These Fimbles are magical. The snouted and concentrically-ringed appearance of the Fimbles was based on the eponymous villains of Lucy Anna and the Finders, written and illustrated by Sarah Hayes. Although Hayes is cited in the credits of Fimbles, and she was involved in adapting the characters for the television series, the implacably omnivorous Finders have nothing else in common with the Fimbles. The scripts of the 200 episodes were written by a number of writers, most notably the programme's producer Lucinda Whiteley. Led by Lois Maxwell as Nancy Williams, a widow caring for her children in rural Northern Ontario, the series revolved around family dynamics and featured characters like Billy, his Ojibwa friend Pete Gawa, and bush pilot Dennis McGubgub. Filming took place around Whitefish Falls, near Espanola, and scenes were shot in Birch Island and Manitoulin Island in 1969. With 26 episodes, it had successful reruns in Canada and internationally, appearing on channels like DejaView and Silver Screen Classics. Although never officially cancelled, the series didn't produce more episodes after its initial run.

For the production of the series, the team had commissioned a "junk hot-line", urging Torontonians to donate any garbage that they could use. In addition, as looking through other peoples' trash is illegal in Toronto, the show also has a special exemption that allows the team to do just that.

Grand Star, called La Compagnie des Glaces in France is a Canadian French Belgian Co-production science fiction television series playing on Space and A-Channel as of September 2007. Set in an apocalyptic future 100 years after a cataclysmic nuclear explosion on the Moon sends the Earth into a new Ice Age, the show revolves around the interactions between a small community of Earth survivors and the returning descendants of colonists who escaped Earth in advance of the disaster. The series is adapted from a series of novels called La Compagnie des glaces by Georges-Jean Arnaud. A multiplayer strategy game based on the universe of the TV series was launched in 2007. In the game, players face each other and use their trains to gather money for the control of energy sources. A French video game named Transarctica was also based on the novel series and haphazardly translated into English.
