Miss Seventeen is a reality television show on MTV that aired from October 17, 2005 to December 19, 2005. The show consisted of 17 young women competing for an internship at and a college scholarship. Atoosa Rubenstein was the main judge, she was the youngest editor-in-chief ever to run Seventeen magazine. They picked 17 girls from around the United States who were not only photogenic but also had been at the top of their class, to provide a role model for young women. The girls were flown to New York, where they would take part in a contest similar in format to The Apprentice — they would be given tasks to be done by Atoosa, and in each episode one of the girls would be eliminated from the competition. The winner would get her face on the cover of Seventeen magazine, a college scholarship and would be offered an internship job on the magazine. The program follows a group of five or more contestants being left at an allegedly haunted location and led them on a series of dares over two nights to explore and confirm whether or not the place is haunted. The show was created by Martin Kunert and Eric Manes. The pilot episode was Co-Executive Produced and directed by George Verschoor. The series aired the first two episodes in a pilot run, which received outstanding reviews and a full season was ordered. After eight more episodes, another season was ordered. The second season ended after 6 episodes aired. The series was not cancelled due to a lack of interest, but due to the high cost of producing each episode. A DVD, MTV's Inside Fear, was released on November 6, 2001. Fear was named #6 on Entertainment Weekly's "15 Taboo-Breaking TV Moments." At the end of its first season, MTV's then-corporate sibling Paramount Television retooled the program, extended it to sixty minutes, and used it as a replacement for the cancelled Arsenio Hall Show for the 1994-95 television season. Spring Break Challenge is a short-lived MTV reality game show spun off from MTV's long-running reality game show, The Challenge. The spin-off series was somewhat cast-contestant dependent on The Challenge in that the Spring Break Challenge used various contestants from the precursor program.. Spring Break Challenge is also cast-contestant dependent on MTV's two flagship reality programs, The Real World and the now cancelled series Road Rules. As with The Challenge, T.J. Lavin was host of Spring Break Challenge. The program aired from March 22, 2010, to March 26, 2010, during spring break in Acapulco, Mexico. This spin-off featured teams of college-aged friends in various challenges of old and new based on previous seasons of The Challenge. star 7Austin Stories is MTV's first ever prime time situation comedy, which debuted September 10, 1997, and aired Wednesday nights at 10:30 pm. The show aired twelve episodes filmed on location in Austin, Texas. An MTV search brought executives James Jones and Lisa Berger to Austin in 1994. Jones had previous produced The Ben Stiller Show and Berger was vice-president and director of development at the network. MTV scouts were drawn to the city's emerging comedy scene and noticed Laura House, Howard Kremer and Brad "Chip" Pope. They were all discovered at a showcase for MTV at the Laff Stop for professional comics. All three had to pull strings to get on the showcase as none of them had been paid for their comedy. House was a junior high journalism teacher when she was cast on the show. Both she and Brad "Chip" Pope were University of Texas graduates. The judges were Brian Friedman, Michelle Williams and Taboo. Marianela Pereyra was the show's backstage correspondent. The casting special aired on August 28, 2008 the show premiered on September 11, 2008. Til Death Do Us Part: Carmen and Dave was a reality television show produced by Fernando Hernández for Music Television. It followed the lives of Carmen Electra and Dave Navarro through the events leading up to their anything-but-traditional wedding, culminating with the marriage ceremony and reception. The show first aired on MTV on January 21, 2004 and ran for 7 episodes. The final episode aired on March 3, 2004. Electra and Navarro were married on November 22, 2003. The couple separated on July 18, 2006, and Electra filed for divorce on August 10, 2006. On February 20, 2007 their divorce was finalized.
