They are brought together after their respective romances failed to work out and they were finally married with the blessings of everyone. Married life was not easy due to Sheng Ping's higher status, and their relationship takes a turn for the worse when Guo Ai's former lover, Luo Xia, re-appears to drive a wedge between the two. When the angry Sheng Ping failed to attend her father-in-law's 70th birthday anniversary, Guo Ai in a drunken rage hits Princess Sheng Ping.
