It was the first multiseason television series in Canada targeted specifically to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community, being preceded only by the short-run documentary series Coming Out in 1972. The series first aired in 1995 as Cable 10%, and adopted the 10% QTV name in 1997. The series was produced in Toronto by a volunteer committee. It aired documentary and feature reports on LGBT life and news in Canada and internationally, including an annual episode airing highlights from the Toronto Pride Parade. The series aired on all Rogers community channels in Southern and Eastern Ontario. Following the end of the series, the Canadian Lesbian and Gay Archives took over the program's website, incorporating it into the CLGA's own website.

The Agenda with Steve Paikin is the flagship current affairs program of TVOntario, Ontario’s public broadcaster. The show practises what anchor and senior editor Steve Paikin calls "long-form" journalism. Each hour-long program tackles no more than two topics, and often only one. "We give people what they tell us they want: more intelligent analysis, and more robust, thought-provoking debate and discussion among newsmakers and experts," Paikin says. The show airs weekdays on TVO at 8 and 11 pm. Content is available on demand online at tvo.org and through mobile media. During the 2007 Ontario provincial election campaign, The Agenda provided extensive coverage, with leaders discussing and debating their parties' platforms, candidates from across the province talking about concerns in their regions and the people of Ontario acting as citizen correspondents, speaking up about issues in their home town. The Agenda plans a similar exercise for the 2011 Ontario provincial election.

It was later syndicated to 60 other stations across the country by Westwood One, a division of CBS Radio, airing weekdays from 5:30 to 10 am Eastern time. Beginning September 3, 1996, the 6 to 9 am portion was simulcast on the cable television network MSNBC. The show had been broadcast almost every weekday morning for 25 years on radio and 11 years on MSNBC until it was canceled on April 12, 2007 due to controversial comments made on the April 4, 2007 broadcast. The remark resulted in the program's cancellation the following week. The Imus in the Morning program returned to the morning drive on New York radio station WABC on December 3, 2007. WABC is the flagship station
